Information and Coding Theory Lab
|

Welcome to our Homepage
The research activities of the Information and Coding Theory Lab (ICT) of the
University of Kiel are in the general area of wireless communications.
The main focus is on channel coding/decoding (turbo codes, decoding with
reliability information, space-time codes), applied information theory,
digital modulation schemes (adaptive modulation and channel coding, OFDM,
DS-CDMA, IDMA), as well as on modern receiver design (equalization,
channel estimation, synchronization, interference rejection).
Among the applications are cellular radio systems (GSM, EDGE, UMTS,
WLAN, next wireless generation), acoustical underwater communication
systems, satellite mobile radio systems, and digital broadcasting systems.
Concerning teaching, courses on channel coding, information theory,
and wireless communications are offered, since the winter term
2001/02 also in English language within the framework of an International
Master Program on Digital Communications. Additionally, a course on
system identification (mobile underwater communication) is
offered within the Master Program on Digital Communications.
